Description
The Ierusalem Anno Domini board game transports players to Jerusalem in the spring of the year 33. Crowds gather at the city gates to welcome Jesus of Nazareth, whose teachings have inspired followers from nearby villages and towns. Soon the Last Supper will take place, and communities of believers seek to be present as close as possible to the table where history will unfold.
In this immersive strategy game, players represent different communities of followers who have traveled to Jerusalem hoping to secure places near Jesus and the apostles. The closer their followers are seated to the central table, the more victory points they will earn by the end of the game.
Designed by Carmen G. Jiménez and illustrated by L.A. Draws, the Ierusalem Anno Domini board game can be played solo or with up to four players. Each session challenges players to carefully manage resources, cards, and positioning in order to gain influence during this pivotal moment.
Gather Followers and Resources
Throughout the game, players send followers to various locations across Jerusalem. The board features several key areas including the market, the desert, the mountain, the lake, and the temple.
Visiting these locations allows players to collect resources such as stones, bread, and fish. They can also gain denarii or special cards that provide additional actions during the round.
These resources are essential for expanding influence and unlocking new opportunities during the game.
Strategic Card Combinations
Cards play a central role in the Ierusalem Anno Domini board game. Each card corresponds to one of the five main locations on the board. By playing cards in specific combinations, players unlock powerful actions and create opportunities to move apostles toward the table of the Last Supper.
Managing your hand efficiently becomes a key strategic element. The right combination of cards can dramatically improve your position and increase your scoring potential.
Position Followers Around the Table
The main objective is to place followers around the table of the Last Supper. Followers positioned closer to Jesus and the apostles provide more victory points.
Players can also gain points by collecting parable tiles and offering tokens throughout the game.
However, positioning requires careful planning. Followers seated near certain apostles may reduce your score. In particular, followers placed near Judas may result in negative points, adding an additional layer of strategic risk.
Watch the Patience of the Sanhedrin
While players compete for influence, the patience of the Sanhedrin gradually decreases during the game. This is represented by a marker that moves along a track on the board.
When the marker reaches its final position, the game ends, triggering the final scoring phase where all victory points are counted.
