Burst Protocol Yu-Gi-Oh introduces a dynamic booster set packed with returning fan-favorite themes, powerful upgrades, and brand-new strategies. This release expands multiple archetypes while adding versatile cards that can shape competitive play and deck building.
One of the highlights of Burst Protocol Yu-Gi-Oh is the return of the “Forbidden” Quick-Play Spell series with Forbidden Crown. This card offers unmatched flexibility, as it can be activated during either player’s turn and used on any monster, including your own. Forbidden Crown negates effects, prevents attacking, blocks use as material, and provides protection from destruction and other card effects for the rest of the turn. Its versatility allows it to function as both offense and defense, making it a strong tactical option in a wide range of situations.
Darklord strategies also make a powerful comeback. Darklord Eveningstar can be Fusion Summoned efficiently using Darklord Dance, with materials from the hand, field, or Graveyard. Once summoned, Eveningstar Sets Darklord Spell and Trap Cards directly from the Deck and can copy their effects from the Graveyard, maintaining pressure while recycling resources.
Burst Protocol Yu-Gi-Oh also reignites the “Rokket” strategy. New Rokket monsters work alongside powerful “Borrel” Link Monsters, allowing players to launch aggressive plays inspired by strategies from Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS. A new Link-5 “Borrel” Monster joins the Extra Deck lineup, offering synergy with Borrelend Dragon and enabling high-impact board setups.
Additional highlights include new support for the Magistus theme, featuring Spenta, the Magistus Sealer, and the Fusion Monster Invoked Magistus Omega. Mercurium the Living Quicksilver introduces a Rank 10 Xyz Monster that disrupts Graveyard-based monster effects while maintaining strong stats and strategic control. The set also debuts a brand-new World Premiere theme with unpredictable mechanics and fresh deck-building possibilities.
Burst Protocol contains a total of 100 cards, including Secret Rares, Ultra Rares, Super Rares, and Commons. Select cards are also available as Starlight Rares, making this set appealing to both competitive duelists and collectors.
