Description
The Flash 10 card game is a fast and energetic card game where players compete to build a row of ten cards in ascending order before anyone else. Because everyone plays at the same time, the game becomes a thrilling race that rewards quick thinking and sharp observation.
Designed by the legendary Wolfgang Kramer, creator of acclaimed games such as El Grande and Downforce, the Flash 10 card game combines simple rules with frantic gameplay that keeps every round exciting.
This pocket-sized game supports 2 to 5 players ages 8 and up, and it delivers quick matches that are perfect for family gatherings or casual game nights.
Build Your Ascending Sequence
At the start of the Flash 10 card game, players shuffle the full deck and receive 10 cards each, which they place face down in front of them.
Once the game begins, players reveal their cards and immediately start drawing new cards from the deck. They can place these new cards on top of their existing ones, creating up to ten piles in their play area.
The objective is simple: arrange the ten visible cards from left to right in ascending numerical order.
However, because all players draw and place cards simultaneously, the table quickly fills with activity as everyone searches for the perfect numbers.
Watch Out for Storm Cards
The deck contains 120 cards, including 100 numbered cards (0 to 99) and 20 storm cards.
When a player draws a storm card, they can place it on top of any of their piles. These cards do not interrupt the numerical order; however, they create a penalty later.
At the end of the game, each visible storm card subtracts one point, so players must decide carefully where to place them.
How the Game Ends
The round ends immediately when one player successfully arranges ten cards in ascending order. Alternatively, the game may end if the deck runs out of cards.
Afterward, players score points by checking their row from left to right. Each numbered card that correctly follows the ascending order earns one point.
Additionally, some cards display a lightning symbol. If a correctly placed card shows this symbol, the player gains an extra point.
Play Multiple Rounds
Players can continue playing several rounds and keep track of their scores. Usually, the game ends once a player reaches a predetermined target score, such as 50 points.
Because rounds are so quick, it is easy to play multiple games in a short time.
Optional Game Modes
The Flash 10 card game also includes optional variants that change the experience.
For example, players can remove the storm cards for a simpler version that focuses only on number sequences. Alternatively, they can try Thunder Mode, where players begin with eight cards and gradually expand their sequence until they complete a row of ten.
These variations make the game flexible and adaptable to different groups.
