Description

The Autumn card game is a clever and compact strategy game where players compete to create the largest connected area of leaves in a beautiful autumn garden. With simple rules and thoughtful card placement, the game offers a relaxing yet strategic experience that players can enjoy in just a few minutes.

Designed by María Blasco and Enrique Blasco, known as Brote de Juegos, and illustrated by Carlos Ureta, the Autumn card game belongs to the Four Seasons Saga and is part of the popular Devir Pocket collection.

The game supports 1 or 2 players ages 8 and up. Because of its quick setup and short playtime, it works perfectly for travel, quick matches, or casual gaming sessions.

Build the Largest Leaf Area

In the Autumn card game, players place cards on top of the others already on the table. Each card shows groups of leaves in two colors: red and yellow.

First, reveal one card and place it on the table. Then the starting player reveals another card and places it on top of the first one. After that, the second player chooses which leaf color each player will control.

From that moment on, players take turns revealing cards and placing them on the growing layout.

Therefore, the objective becomes clear: create the largest connected area of leaf spaces in your color.

Strategic Card Placement

Whenever a player places a card, it must cover one or two leaf spaces from the card below. Players may rotate cards 180 degrees, but they cannot rotate them sideways.

Because cards must overlap existing cards, players must carefully choose where to place each new card. As a result, they can expand their own area while also limiting their opponent’s possibilities.

However, leaf spaces only connect when they touch orthogonally. In other words, they must connect on the sides rather than diagonally.

Play Three Rounds

A full game of the Autumn card game consists of three rounds.

At the end of each round, players count the number of leaf spaces in their largest connected area. After the third round finishes, players compare the results to determine the winner.

Because of this format, players can adjust their strategy between rounds and try different placements.

Solo Mode Challenges

In addition, the Autumn card game includes three solo challenges for players who enjoy puzzle-style gameplay.

In solo mode, players use both leaf colors while trying to create specific patterns depending on the chosen challenge.

  • Garden Challenge: Count the three largest leaf areas and score the smallest value among them.

  • Balance Challenge: Create three areas with the same number of spaces.

  • Challenge Two: Build only two areas without leaving extra disconnected spaces.

Each challenge creates a different puzzle that rewards careful planning and spatial thinking.

A Perfect Travel Game

Thanks to its 18 cards, the Autumn card game remains extremely portable and easy to set up anywhere. In fact, the Devir Pocket series focuses on delivering strategic games in compact formats.

Whether you want a quick competitive match or a thoughtful solo puzzle, this elegant leaf-building game provides a satisfying experience.
